At the 2025 China Smart Computing Industry Ecosystem Development Conference, leaders from the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology announced that the application process for the Computing Power Internet Testbed is actively underway. Building upon the initial construction efforts by China's three major telecommunication operators – China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom – the scope of this testbed will significantly broaden to encompass leading enterprises and institutions across pivotal industries, including cloud service providers, science and education sectors, financial institutions, and industrial parks.
