On June 18, Zhang Xiaoyu, Executive Vice President of Changan Auto, delivered a keynote address at the 2025 Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai. He emphasized the intensely competitive nature of China's automobile market, which features 10 key players: traditional independent brands, traditional joint venture brands, emerging players, and information and communication technology (ICT) enterprises. Zhang Xiaoyu further noted a discernible trend of sales polarization within this market, where the top 30 brands collectively hold an 86% market share, leaving only 14% for the remaining 117 brands. Current statistics reveal a total of 147 automobile brands in China, offering 840 distinct products. Notably, the top 40 brands dominate with a 92% market share, underscoring the pronounced Matthew Effect in the industry.
