On May 27, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the National Data Administration jointly issued a comprehensive plan aimed at reinforcing the development of new information infrastructure. The plan underscores the importance of fostering coordinated growth in the advanced computing sector, accelerating the integration of network resources, data, computing power, and algorithms, thereby catalyzing innovations in high-performance computing, intelligent computing, and cloud-edge-terminal collaborative computing. Furthermore, the plan advocates for optimizing the network distribution of edge computing centers to establish a robust, high-performance, and widely interconnected new information infrastructure. Additionally, the plan encourages the profound integration of new information infrastructure within the electronic information manufacturing industry, expediting the widespread adoption of advanced computing, 5G-Advanced (5G-A), gigabit optical networks, the industrial internet, and artificial intelligence technologies.
