AMD's strategy of hiring Linux engineers for the server market is not a recent development. As its EPYC processors continue to expand their footprint in data centers, where Linux reigns supreme, AMD has consistently reinforced its commitment to the platform. In recent years, Ryzen processors have steadily gained popularity on Linux systems, notably through pivotal designs such as Valve's Steam Deck and select Tesla in-car infotainment systems. Now, AMD is further strengthening its Linux expertise by recruiting additional engineers to focus on the development of Ryzen client systems under Linux. These engineers will support next-generation hardware, enhance features, and bolster support for existing Ryzen systems, among other initiatives.
