The International Energy Agency (IEA) issued a report on the 10th, projecting that global electricity demand for data centers will double by 2030, primarily fueled by the surge in artificial intelligence. According to the report, titled Energy and Artificial Intelligence, global data center electricity consumption is anticipated to reach 945 terawatt-hours by that year, slightly exceeding Japan's current total electricity usage and accounting for under 3% of global electricity consumption in 2030.
