Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has unveiled a landmark investment of $3 billion in India, aimed at bolstering the nation's AI infrastructure and enhancing Azure cloud services. This marks Microsoft's "largest expansion" to date in India. Nadella emphasized that the funds will be directed towards upgrading data centers, augmenting the training capabilities of AI models, and optimizing the efficiency of cloud services. Earlier, Microsoft had pledged to invest $80 billion globally in AI by fiscal year 2025, with over half of that investment dedicated to data center development in the United States. Recognizing India as a pivotal growth market for American tech giants, this investment is poised not only to accelerate the development of India's AI and cloud computing landscape but also to generate a substantial number of new job opportunities within the country.
