Sharp Divests Sakai Headquarters Building to Sekisui Chemical for 25 Billion Yen

In an effort to streamline its asset base, Sharp has sold its headquarters factory building located in Sakai, Osaka Prefecture, to Sekisui Chemical for a sum of 25 billion yen. Prior to this transaction, Sharp had already made the decision to offload part of the land and facilities from its former TV LCD panel factory in Sakai to SoftBank for approximately 100 billion yen. SoftBank intends to establish an AI data center on the acquired site. Through these asset sales, Sharp aims to bolster its financial position and accelerate the transformation of its business structure.
