On November 3, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) announced that the number of internet users worldwide is expected to reach approximately 6.3 billion in 2026, accounting for 76% of the global population. However, disparities in internet access persist across countries and demographic groups. According to the ITU's latest "Facts and Figures 2026" report, despite the continued expansion of internet connectivity, 2 billion people remain offline, with a stark usage gap: internet usage stands at 93% in high-income countries but only 32% in low-income countries.
