As the fourth quarter commences, the final push (chōngcì, which can be translated as "sprint" in this context, signifying a last-ditch effort) to achieve annual economic goals has entered a crucial phase. Beijing, Shaanxi, Yunnan, and other regions are vigorously rolling out major projects as key drivers to boost investment and stabilize growth in the final quarter of the year.
In Beijing, the focus in the fourth quarter will be on key industries such as artificial intelligence, high-end equipment manufacturing, and biopharmaceuticals. The city aims to promote the implementation of numerous projects and attract private capital to invest in projects with a total investment of no less than RMB 200 billion.
The Shaanxi Provincial Department of Water Resources has set a clear goal of RMB 51 billion in water conservancy investment for the year. It is advancing nine major water conservancy projects, including the third phase of the Han River to Wei River Water Diversion Project.
Yuxi, in Yunnan province, is set to commence 63 industrial projects worth RMB 10 billion in the fourth quarter. These projects span various sectors, including energy, industry, agriculture, the digital economy, and more.
Shanxi, Hebei, Chongqing, and other regions have also held successive meetings, proposing to expand effective investment. They are focusing on the deployment of energy transition, the development of advanced manufacturing industries, the construction of the "six networks," the commercialization of scientific and technological achievements, and "small but beautiful" livelihood projects.
Among these initiatives, the "six networks" encompass water networks, new-type power grids, computing power networks, next-generation communication networks, urban underground pipe networks, and logistics networks. With a total estimated investment exceeding RMB 7 trillion, they have become core drivers for stabilizing growth and expanding domestic demand.
