On October 25, with less than two weeks to go before the US midterm elections, data center construction has emerged as a significant political risk for politicians involved. The latest POLITICO poll conducted by PF Global reveals that half of Americans oppose the construction of data centers within approximately 4.8 kilometers of their homes. This marks the highest level of opposition since the poll began tracking the issue, nearly doubling the 28% opposition rate recorded in January this year. Today, American voters are more inclined to oppose candidates who support data center construction, a trend that reverses the slight support such candidates received from voters 10 months ago.
