NVIDIA-backed data center company Firmus is currently engaged in discussions with its existing investors to secure private funding, with the goal of raising between $2 billion and $3 billion. Earlier, Firmus had shelved its initial public offering (IPO) plan, which had the potential to be one of the largest listings in Australia. As a next-generation cloud service provider, Firmus requires ongoing financial support to drive the progress of its current data center projects. Initially, Firmus's existing investors intended to subscribe to roughly half of the funds that were initially earmarked for the IPO, a move that could facilitate a swift conclusion to this funding round. At present, the specific structure of the financing has yet to be determined and may involve a combination of equity and debt financing. It is still unclear whether NVIDIA will participate in this round of funding.
