On September 28th, Fox News reported that Google (GOOG.O) plans to invest at least $15.2 billion in Finland's digital infrastructure over the next two years, marking one of the largest tech investments in Finnish history. Finnish President Alexander Stubb stated that Finland's abundant clean energy, secure operating environment, and expanding tech industry make it a prime location for artificial intelligence infrastructure development. Stubb expressed that companies independently choose locations for data center construction and he is delighted that Google has selected Finland. Google's choice of Finland is attributed to the country's 95% clean energy-powered electricity, a secure system capable of withstanding cyberattacks, and its relatively cold climate.
