The data center of San Francisco-based startup Firebird in Armenia has commenced operations. It is projected that by the end of next year, the center will have an installed capacity of 300 megawatts, housing over 70,000 of NVIDIA's latest chips. One-fifth of its computing power will be utilized domestically to support local scientific research, government initiatives, and startups, with the remaining capacity allocated to foreign enterprises, including Perplexity AI. According to Firebird, the data center, located in the town of Hrazdan, approximately 45 kilometers from the capital Yerevan, is poised to become the largest computing cluster in the region and rank among the top in Europe.
