According to a local-time report released by research firm Data Center Watch on September 21, between April and June this year, around 45 data center projects in the United States, collectively valued at $68 billion, faced suspension or delays due to resistance from local communities. Presently, communities nationwide are advocating for moratoriums on data center construction, frequently taking action even before developers submit permit applications. Furthermore, approximately 30 state legislatures have either proposed or enacted regulations addressing issues related to data center siting, power supply, and water usage.
