On September 17th, a research report released by China Galaxy Securities highlighted that, propelled by the concurrent momentum of computing power network development and AI-driven demand, the optical fiber market is experiencing a comprehensive surge in demand. Specifically, the expansion of the computing power network's backbone infrastructure, coupled with the upgrade of internal optical interconnection architectures within data centers, is unlocking substantial growth potential for the optical fiber industry.
Currently, the optical fiber market is characterized by a tight supply-demand balance, with demand growth significantly outpacing supply increases, signaling a phase of structural supply shortage. Furthermore, this supply-demand gap is projected to widen progressively. China Galaxy Securities anticipates that among leading companies with high self-sufficiency rates in optical fiber preforms, the profit leverage derived from price hikes will be fully realized. Consequently, the optical fiber sector is undergoing a transformation, shifting from its traditional cyclical telecommunications trajectory to a high-growth computing power infrastructure pathway.
