On September 15, 2026, Amazon acknowledged in an update on the AWS Status Health Page that some data from facilities damaged during the U.S.-Iran war in the Persian Gulf remains unrecoverable, including the Bahrain data center and one availability zone in the UAE network. Engineers are still rushing to repair two other availability zones, with an update on the recovery of the Bahrain facility expected early next year.
