On September 15, IDC unveiled the global server market data for the second quarter of 2026. The figures revealed that Lenovo's global shipments of x86 servers soared to 286,000 units, marking a significant year-on-year surge of 45.6% and propelling the company to the pinnacle of global rankings for the first time. Concurrently, its revenue for the same period skyrocketed to $8.26 billion, a remarkable year-on-year increase of 96%. This achievement signifies Lenovo's inaugural ascent to the summit of the global x86 server shipment rankings, a feat accomplished since its acquisition of IBM's x86 server business in 2014. Furthermore, the global server market revenue reached an all-time high of $166.3 billion in the second quarter of 2026, with a year-on-year increase of 52%.
