On September 15, Sugon, in collaboration with the Earth System Numerical Simulation Center of the China Meteorological Administration, announced significant advancements in the application of the MCV numerical model. Leveraging the Multi-Moment Constrained Finite Volume (MCV) methodology, the next-generation atmospheric model has been successfully deployed on the Sugon 8000 platform, achieving GPU full-mode heterogeneous parallel computing. This implementation encompasses a comprehensive meteorological model that has undergone rigorous numerical result verification, large-scale operational testing, and stability assessments. The Sugon 8000 system is adept at dynamically allocating computing resources tailored to specific task requirements, optimizing computing, communication, storage, and software frameworks. As a result, it can now perform global weather forecast calculations for the upcoming 10-day period in approximately 1 hour, marking a significant leap in meteorological prediction capabilities.
