On September 11, the Cyberspace Administration of China, in conjunction with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, jointly unveiled the Action Plan for the High-Quality Development of Digital Villages (2026-2030). This comprehensive plan outlines a strategy to elevate the standard of rural network infrastructure, deepen the implementation of universal telecommunication services, and propel the "Broadband Border" initiative forward. It emphasizes the need-based deployment of 5G and gigabit optical networks in rural areas to ensure widespread connectivity. Concurrently, the plan delves into the exploration of innovative solutions, such as high-throughput satellites and low-orbit satellite internet, to furnish rural and remote regions with a variety of network access options. Furthermore, it underscores the continued commitment to the Smart Radio and Television for Rural Areas project, accelerating the establishment of new radio and television networks, and enhancing the breadth of rural viewing choices and comprehensive information services.
