Snowflake Raises Annual Sales Forecast, AI Assistant Adoption Drives 21% Stock Surge

On September 3, Snowflake (SNOW.N) raised its full-year sales forecast after releasing its quarterly results. The accelerated adoption of its AI-assisted coding tool, CoCo, drove the company's stock price up more than 21% in after-hours trading. Snowflake expects product revenue to reach approximately $6.07 billion by the end of the fiscal year in January next year, surpassing its May forecast and exceeding the average analyst expectation of $5.86 billion. Product sales account for about 95% of the company's total revenue. The company revealed that more than 2,000 new customer accounts adopted CoCo this quarter, bringing the total number of accounts using it to 9,100. Snowflake, a software company specializing in cloud-based data organization and analysis, is currently integrating AI capabilities into its platform. In the quarter ending in July, Snowflake's product revenue grew 37% year-over-year to $1.49 billion, exceeding analyst expectations of $1.42 billion; remaining performance obligations (reflecting future order size) stood at $9 billion, slightly below the average analyst expectation of $9.37 billion.
