At the 2026 Global Data Storage Professor Forum, Huawei proudly announced the winners of its sixth "Olympus Awards." Seven outstanding research teams, both domestic and international, were honored, with one team receiving the prestigious Olympus Award and the other six being bestowed with Olympus Pioneer Awards. Since its inception by Huawei in 2019, this award has emerged as a prominent recognition within the data storage industry. This year's competition drew the attention of over 160 experts and scholars from 30 universities and research institutions across the globe, all vying for the opportunity to participate. During the forum, Huawei also unveiled the two primary technical directions and challenges for the upcoming seventh "Olympus Awards," namely, "storage technology achieving ultimate cost-effectiveness per bit" and "an Agentic AI-native data foundation."
