On August 31, the high-level seminar on “Space for Development”, co-hosted by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the International Telecommunication Union, commenced in Shanghai, unfolding over a three-day period. The seminar delved into pivotal themes, such as space service issues at the World Radiocommunication Conference, prospects for integrated terrestrial and space networks, large-scale applications of the Beidou system, and the integrated development of satellite and ground systems. These topics were explored through keynote speeches, roundtable discussions, and field research. Throughout the seminar, special sessions were held to disseminate information on the International Telecommunication Union's regulatory framework for space and the regulatory practices of various countries. Additionally, multiple roundtable discussions were conducted on themes including “Space for Development” and “New Challenges in Spectrum and Orbit Resource Management”. Participants engaged in thorough exchanges of views on subjects such as space governance, spectrum and orbit coordination, and industry empowerment for developing countries.
