Amazon.com Inc. announced that it has signed long-term power purchase agreements with four wind farms in Sweden to meet the electricity demand for the expansion of its data centers in the Nordic country. These deals will add nearly 200 megawatts of power, and once fully operational, Amazon's power supply in Sweden will exceed 1 gigawatt. As demand for cloud computing and artificial intelligence services grows, hyperscale data center operators like Amazon are ramping up power procurement and expanding their data centers. The e-commerce giant plans to add 2 million Nvidia GPUs to its data centers in 2027 and 2028, having already stated that it will deploy 1 million this year.
