Based on the official WeChat account of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the ministry has unveiled the operational statistics for the digital industry covering the first half of 2026. During this period, the digital industry witnessed a consistent growth trajectory, with total revenue soaring to RMB 20.71 trillion, reflecting a 13.6% year-on-year (YoY) surge. This growth rate not only outpaced the previous year by 4.1 percentage points but also showed a 0.7 percentage point increase compared to the first quarter. When it comes to profits, propelled by the burgeoning domestic demand for artificial intelligence and robust export performance, the digital industry's profitability continued its upward trend. Total profits reached RMB 1.79 trillion, registering a 19.3% YoY growth. This growth rate marked a significant 10.3 percentage point increase over the same period last year, and the revenue profit margin stood at 8.6%, up by 0.7 percentage points YoY.
