Recently, Premier Li Qiang of the State Council chaired an executive meeting to review a report on the development of the new-generation communication network. The meeting underscored the importance of keeping pace with the trends of the scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. It highlighted the need to capitalize on the opportunities arising from the construction of this advanced communication network, adhering to the principles of application-driven and moderately forward-looking development. Coordinated efforts are required to advance foundational, spatial, international, and converged network construction, thereby boosting the competitiveness of China's information and communication sector.

Simultaneously, there is a pressing need to foster innovation-driven growth, promote the widespread adoption of new-generation intelligent terminals, and nurture high-value application scenarios such as smart cities and intelligent manufacturing, thus expanding the industrial ecosystem. Moreover, it is vital to strengthen the protection of critical network infrastructure and data security, enhance emergency communication capabilities, and refine a construction mechanism that is government-guided, enterprise-led, and socially inclusive. This mechanism should ensure robust support in terms of land use, electricity supply, spectrum allocation, and other resources, thereby galvanizing the enthusiasm of all stakeholders involved.
