On August 11, it was reported by foreign media that German energy company Uniper has identified approximately 10 locations across Europe that could be used for selling, leasing, or developing data centers. With a surge in demand for AI infrastructure, Uniper is seizing the opportunities presented by the data center construction boom. According to documents released by the company on Tuesday, these locations are spread across the UK (4 sites), Germany (3 sites), Sweden (2 sites), and the Netherlands (1 site). Uniper stated that three of these projects are relatively mature and are expected to reach investment decisions this year. Previously, the German government provided a multi-billion-euro bailout to Uniper during the 2022 energy crisis and is now preparing to gradually reduce its stake. As a result, Uniper is seeking to enhance its appeal to investors.
