According to SpaceX on Thursday, the company plans to dismantle the unlicensed natural gas turbines at the xAI data center near Memphis and switch to power from a permanent 1.2-gigawatt natural gas power plant. However, the complete removal of the temporary turbines will not occur until July 2027. Previously, the xAI data center faced legal action and noise complaints from residents due to the unauthorized installation of natural gas turbines.
