During a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on July 29, Rui Wenbiao, the Deputy Commissioner of the National Intellectual Property Administration, revealed that as of the end of June this year, the proportion of valid invention patents in cutting-edge areas of next-generation information technology—including artificial intelligence, the Internet, cloud computing, and big data—stood at 16.5% of the overall total.
