The National Development and Reform Commission, in collaboration with the National Energy Administration, has unveiled the '14th Five-Year Plan' for Renewable Energy Development. This plan underscores the importance of integrating renewable energy into digital infrastructure. It provides guidance for the joint planning and arrangement of newly-constructed data centers alongside renewable energy generation facilities. Moreover, the plan delves into the untapped potential for regulating computing loads, aiming to elevate the green energy consumption standards within digital infrastructure. This is to be achieved through innovative measures, including direct green power connections and the implementation of integrated source-grid-load-storage systems. Concurrently, the plan sets a goal to boost the share of renewable energy utilization in pre-existing facilities.
