On June 6, corporate filings revealed that Google (GOOG.O) has secured a cloud services pact with SpaceX, set to run through mid-2029. According to the terms, starting from October of this year and extending to June 2029, Google will compensate SpaceX with a hefty $920 million each month in exchange for computing resources. These resources encompass roughly 110,000 NVIDIA GPUs, CPUs, memory, and other pertinent hardware.
The computing power provided by SpaceX is scheduled for a phased escalation by September, accompanied by a proportional decrease in costs. The filings also outline a contingency: should SpaceX fall short of delivering the agreed-upon GPU quota by September 30, 2026, Google reserves the right to terminate the contract, subject to a one-month notice period. Furthermore, the agreement grants either party the flexibility to dissolve the partnership with a 90-day advance notice.
