At Computex 2026 in Taipei, Intel unveiled the latest plans for its Data Center Group (DGC) and officially launched Crescent Island, a new-generation GPU platform designed for AI data centers. This platform focuses on high memory capacity and energy efficiency in inference scenarios. Intel noted that with the rapid expansion of AI applications, data center demands are shifting from traditional workloads to AI-centric ones. To address the challenges of next-generation workloads, the company is enhancing performance per watt, single-core performance, rack-level core density, and memory bandwidth.
