On May 19, 2026, the National Data Administration convened an on-site conference in Guangzhou dedicated to advancing data infrastructure development. The meeting served as a platform to review the achievements of ongoing pilot projects and to unveil six strategic tasks aimed at propelling the sector forward. These tasks encompass: adhering to meticulous planning and guidance, ensuring alignment with the overarching objectives of the 15th Five-Year Plan and the Digital China initiative, and formulating a robust blueprint; executing pivotal projects to establish foundational shared capabilities; prioritizing technological innovation to refine cutting-edge solutions such as trusted data spaces; enhancing the standardization framework and refining pertinent norms; emphasizing scenario-driven strategies to foster the widespread adoption of tailored application scenarios; and fortifying security protocols to bolster comprehensive protection mechanisms, thereby steering the systematic and orderly progression of data infrastructure development.
