Recently, Microsoft unveiled its financial report for the third quarter of fiscal year 2026. The revenue generated from the Xbox business fell below expectations, with the total revenue experiencing a 6.6% year-on-year decrease and hardware revenue plummeting by 33% compared to the previous year. Nevertheless, Microsoft's overall brand revenue witnessed an 18% year-on-year growth, soaring to $82.9 billion.
Microsoft made an announcement that, commencing from May 2026, the Windows Autopatch enterprise-managed service will activate the hot patch security update mechanism by default. This will empower eligible Windows PCs to install patches without the need for a system reboot.
Moreover, the PDF reader in the Microsoft Edge browser is set to be upgraded to the WebUI 2.0 architecture, significantly enhancing the processing speed of PDF files. This update is scheduled for a complete rollout in May 2026.
Microsoft also affirmed its commitment to refocusing on the Windows system, with a continued emphasis on boosting user engagement with core products like the Microsoft Edge browser and Bing search.
