China has officially launched its inaugural large-scale, collaborative direct green power supply project tailored for computing and electricity needs. The project features a 500,000-kilowatt photovoltaic power station situated at China Datang's Zhongwei Cloud Base. This milestone achievement directly links desert-based wind and solar energy with digital computing infrastructure, aligning with the broader 'Compute East, Store West' strategy.
Nestled in Zhongwei, Ningxia, the project seamlessly integrates a photovoltaic power station, a wind farm, and essential energy storage systems. Once operating at full capacity, it is projected to generate a staggering 4.3 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually. This will not only slash carbon emissions by 3.65 million tons but also cater to 2.29 billion kilowatt-hours of the electricity requirements for the Zhongwei Cloud Base. In doing so, it successfully accomplishes the twin objectives of promoting green power consumption and ensuring grid stability.
