On the morning of April 13, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre opened its doors to the 2026 Asia-Pacific Summit of the World Internet Conference. This two-day summit, under the theme of “Digital and AI Empowerment for Innovative Development – Fostering a Cyberspace Community with a Shared Future,” was designed to spotlight cutting-edge technologies across the Asia-Pacific region, break down geographical barriers, and stimulate worldwide digital innovation and technological collaboration. The opening ceremony was graced by the presence of John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, leaders from central government bodies based in Hong Kong, and distinguished guests from diverse sectors. Throughout the summit, an opening ceremony and a main forum will take place, complemented by six sub-forums. These sub-forums will delve into a range of topics, including AI agent innovation and applications, digital finance, AI safety governance, smart living solutions, digital health, and the digitization and dissemination of cultural classics.
