On March 31st, Fujian province convened a consultative meeting attended by provincial and municipal maritime authorities. Yan Zhihuang, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Provincial Department of Ocean and Fisheries, underscored the importance of concentrating efforts on pivotal sectors during the meeting. He highlighted the need to harmonize marine development with conservation efforts, carry out extensive marine surveys in the waters between Fujian and Taiwan, promote the holistic development of bay economies and island regions, and broaden the scope of multi-scenario demonstration projects, including satellite-marine internet integration and unmanned vessel operations. Furthermore, he stressed the collaborative construction of a cohesive and unified 'Maritime Fujian' platform, the exploration of integrating 'computing power into the ocean' to nurture new marine industries, and the ongoing innovation and refinement of supporting systems to pave the way for institutional advancements.
