On March 30, the World Data Organization (WDO) officially concluded its establishment process in Beijing, with the election of its inaugural board members, supervisors, and organizational leaders, marking the commencement of its formal operations. As the inaugural professional international body dedicated to fostering data development and governance practices on a global scale, the WDO has established its headquarters in Beijing. Academician Tan Tieniu, who serves as the Secretary of the Party Committee at Nanjing University, has been elected as the founding chairman of this esteemed organization. The WDO has successfully garnered a membership base exceeding 200 entities, representing over 40 countries worldwide. This diverse membership includes a wide array of stakeholders such as enterprises, universities, and think tanks, spanning across 14 distinct industries.
