Liu Chen, who previously headed JD Cloud’s PaaS (Platform-as-a-Service) division, has left the company, with his entire team now being integrated into the IaaS (Infrastructure-as-a-Service) department under the leadership of Gong Yicheng. Liu Chen’s exit was a decision made by Liu Qiangdong, reflecting a passive departure due to concerns over performance and adherence to contractual obligations. Notably, the performance metrics for Liu Chen’s PaaS team had been adjusted downward prior to this transition. As a long-standing and experienced member of JD Cloud, Liu Chen holds a degree from Beijing University of Technology and has played key roles in numerous important positions, leading several core technology initiatives throughout his tenure.
