On March 27, during the Tencent Cloud Shanghai Summit, Li Qiang, Vice President of Tencent Group and head of its Government and Enterprise Business, remarked that Tencent has been deeply entrenched in the Yangtze River Delta region for more than two decades, ever since setting up an office in Shanghai back in 2002. The tech giant now boasts a workforce of over 8,000 employees in the area and caters to more than 110,000 customers, with its business operations spanning across diverse sectors such as finance, manufacturing, retail, healthcare, and education. Moreover, the Science Exploration Prize and the New Cornerstone Investigator Program, both launched by Tencent, have jointly offered public welfare funding to back 143 scientists in the Yangtze River Delta region.
