On March 25 local time, private equity giant KKR announced the sale of its data center cooling business company, CoolIT, to Ecolab in a deal valued at $4.75 billion, with expected returns approximately 15 times the original investment amount (including dividends). KKR acquired a majority stake in CoolIT in 2023, when the company was valued at approximately $270 million.
