In a landmark achievement, the Research Institute of China Telecom, in partnership with Guangdong Telecom and Huawei, has successfully conducted the industry's inaugural live network validation of distributed training spanning multiple intelligent computing centers, utilizing multi-core fiber technology. This milestone was accomplished by harnessing a multi-core fiber transmission system, which was co-developed on pertinent platforms alongside the existing network infrastructure, effectively linking intelligent computing centers in Guangzhou and Shenzhen. The interconnection span for this validation stretched an impressive 409.61 kilometers, delivering performance that surpassed 97% of that achieved in centralized training scenarios.
This validation not only broke through the limitations of traditional mechanisms but also showcased the engineering viability and performance benefits of large-scale, inter-city intelligent computing interconnection. At the platform level, the system demonstrated stable, high-bandwidth, and long-distance transmission capabilities, guaranteeing the optical interconnection quality essential for intelligent computing and offering a vital technical route at the physical layer.
Furthermore, the platform has earned a place on the SASAC's roster of central enterprise pilot platforms, boasting a diverse array of pilot validation service capabilities. On the intelligent computing network front, a comprehensive full-stack optimization solution has been enhanced, and an interconnection architecture has been established to deliver wide-area deterministic services tailored for large-scale model intelligent computing operations.
