Zhang Yunming, the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, highlighted that in 2025, the industrial and information technology sector steadfastly propelled forward the new-type industrialization. Despite encountering various pressures, the industrial economy forged ahead, reaching unprecedented heights and achieving superior quality, marked by a tangible enhancement in quality and a judicious expansion in quantity. The primary annual objectives and tasks were successfully fulfilled. In 2025, the added value of industrial output above the designated scale witnessed a year-on-year increase of 5.9%. The manufacturing sector is anticipated to maintain its position as the world's largest for the 16th consecutive year. The added value of industrial output in the equipment manufacturing sector and the high-tech manufacturing sector, both above the designated scale, surged by 9.2% and 9.4% year-on-year, respectively. The manufacturing sector's digital and intelligent transformation made significant strides, with a cumulative establishment of over 35,000 basic-level, more than 8,200 advanced-level, and over 500 top-tier smart factories, along with the cultivation of 15 cutting-edge smart factories. The industrial and information technology sectors contributed over 40% to economic growth, effectively serving as a 'stabilizing anchor.' Investment in emerging sectors demonstrated favorable growth trends, with double-digit growth observed in industries such as aircraft, spacecraft, and equipment manufacturing. Zhang Yunming expressed unwavering confidence in sustaining a stable and improving trajectory for the industrial economy in 2026.
