According to data released by South Korea's Ministry of Science and ICT on Wednesday, in 2025, propelled by robust demand within the AI sector, the nation's exports of information and communication technology (ICT) products surged to a historic high of US$264.2 billion. This marks a significant 12.4% year-on-year increase from the US$235 billion recorded in 2024. During the same timeframe, ICT imports also rose by 5.8%, reaching US$151.2 billion, and thus contributing to a substantial trade surplus of US$113 billion.
