On December 5, during the 2025 Digital Intelligence Technology Ecosystem Conference, China Telecom proudly introduced the world's inaugural cross-border hollow-core fiber along with an ultra-low latency commercial transmission system. In the era of AI, latency stands as a pivotal factor for productivity, especially for latency-critical sectors like finance and intelligent computing. With this in mind, China Telecom has successfully deployed 110 kilometers of cross-border commercial hollow-core fiber connecting Dongguan, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong. Through meticulous optimization of the optical cable routing, the company has surmounted the hurdles associated with long-distance deployment and upkeep, thereby transcending the physical constraints inherent in traditional optical fibers. This innovative fiber technology not only accelerates the transmission speed of optical signals by 30% but also slashes equipment processing latency by more than 40%. Moreover, China Telecom has spearheaded efforts to diminish the mutual access latency between the Guangdong and Hong Kong stock exchanges to under 1 millisecond, laying a solid all-optical intelligent interconnection foundation for seamless and efficient computing power collaboration.
