On December 2, multiple netizens with verified Lenovo employee statuses disclosed that a sweeping layoff had occurred within Lenovo's Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG) division in Shanghai. This move reportedly impacted hundreds of staff members, with pregnant employees also among those affected. The communication session regarding the layoffs was notably brief, lasting a mere 15 minutes, and even commenced 13 minutes behind schedule. During this abbreviated meeting, a two-minute audio clip was played to formally announce the layoff decision.
Furthermore, it has come to light that the Research and Development (R&D) teams specializing in software, firmware, and operating systems across China have been disbanded. This restructuring has had a widespread impact, affecting multiple locations such as Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, and Shenzhen. As of now, Lenovo has not issued an official statement in response to these developments.
