On November 26, figures released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revealed that during the first ten months of this year, the cumulative mobile internet data traffic soared to 323.2 billion GB, marking a 16.8% year-on-year surge. By the end of October, the number of mobile internet users had climbed to 1.617 billion, reflecting a net increase of 46.42 million from the close of the previous year. In October alone, the average mobile internet data consumption per user (DOU) stood at 22.21 GB per user per month, representing a 15.7% year-on-year rise and an additional 2.51 GB per user per month compared to the end of the preceding year. Furthermore, as of the end of October, the total number of 5G base stations had escalated to 4.758 million, with a net addition of 507,000 from the end of the previous year. These stations now constitute 37% of all mobile base stations, with the proportion experiencing a 0.4 percentage point uptick from the first three quarters.
