On November 22, the 2025 China 5G+ Industrial Internet Conference opened in Wuhan. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology announced the official launch of a two-year commercial trial for China's satellite IoT business. Fu Yifu, a special researcher at Suzhou Bank, stated that this move marks China's transition of satellite IoT from technical verification to large-scale commercialization, injecting new momentum into emerging industries such as commercial aerospace and low-altitude economy. Satellite IoT utilizes satellite communication technology to connect ground, marine, and aerial devices, providing data collection and transmission services. Its application scenarios cover marine fisheries, transportation and logistics, energy and water conservancy, emergency communication, low-altitude economy, industrial internet, and other fields. The commercial trial aims to enrich the supply in the satellite communication market, stimulate market vitality, enhance industry service capabilities, establish a safety supervision system, and develop replicable and scalable experiences and models.
