At the 2025 Capital Markets Day, Nokia unveiled its updated strategy, with the ambition to capitalize on the prospects brought about by AI-powered network evolution and step into the "AI Super Cycle". The company disclosed its fresh long-term financial goals and outlined a plan to streamline its operational framework into two principal business divisions — Network Infrastructure and Mobile Infrastructure — commencing January 1, 2026. By 2028, Nokia sets its sights on attaining a comparable operating profit ranging from €2.7 billion to €3.2 billion. This new strategy is centered around five key areas, among which is expediting growth in AI and cloud-related ventures. The Network Infrastructure division is earmarked as a driver of growth, aiming for a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6% to 8% in net sales from 2025 to 2028, along with a target operating profit margin of 13% to 17% by 2028. The Mobile Infrastructure division zeroes in on core network and wireless technologies and services, striving for a gross profit margin of 48% to 50% and consistent operating profit growth by 2028. Moreover, Nokia will amalgamate several non-core business units into an independently run Portfolio Business division and intends to define the ultimate development path for each unit within 2026.
