On November 18, 2025, the Ministry of Natural Resources unveiled the "Administrative Measures for Satellite Navigation and Positioning Reference Stations," set to take effect on January 1, 2026. These measures are designed to introduce a unified and standardized management framework across the entire spectrum of activities related to national satellite navigation and positioning reference stations, encompassing their construction, operation, and maintenance. A satellite navigation and positioning reference station functions as a stationary ground-based observation post. Its primary role is to continuously monitor satellite navigation signals over extended periods and then transmit the collected data to a data center either in real-time or at predetermined intervals through communication infrastructure. Currently, the "National Network of Satellite Navigation and Positioning Reference Stations" boasts an impressive network of 6,951 stations, handling daily positioning service requests that soar into the tens of millions.
