On November 11, 2025, Microsoft announced that it will invest US$10 billion to build an artificial intelligence data center in Sines, Portugal, marking one of its largest investment projects in Europe this year. Located approximately 150 kilometers south of Lisbon, the data center campus is being developed in collaboration with Portuguese developer Start Campus and British startup Nscale.
